Airports and layovers

Airports and layovers are probably two of my favorite things. I love airports, although I don't really enjoy flying; and layovers, are fantastic. I love the hustle and bustle of the people, from your business coats to families with screaming kids. The airport is people watching at it's finest.

And fashion watching, It's interesting to see what you can find and where you van route it back to. The airport is definitely a culture zoo.

Where else can you find a man dressed straight from a J.Crew catalogue to a man decked out in Drydales Western Wear?

I'm off to continue my people watching until my next flight. Tulsa, you're not even going to know what hit you.

Because it's Monday

God is faithful and continues to be.

The weather has been beautiful and so warm. I finally feel like summer has approached--now that fall has approached. But I am totally down for this one last hoorah.

Oklahoma in a few days and I'm so excited. Sweet tea, wedding, sno cones and friendship.

Seriously, if you are ever in Tulsa. Josh's Sno Cone Shack.

Soaking up the rest of the summer sun.

Here are some photos taken in Corona del Mar a couple months ago.

I love weddings

Details make me swoon, happiness makes me emotional.

Every since I can remember I have had this love for weddings.

I have been obsessed with wedding photography for years.

I peruse more weddings diy blogs than I have fingers and toes.

Except I'm not one of those girls that has her wedding planned out, nor really any of the details. I know what I like, but I evolve daily and when I share my life with someone my likes and compromises will be shown.

But that is another tangent.

This story has to do with my best friend, Lauren Parker. We have been besties since we were 6 and have been through a great deal. When we were seniors in highschool we somehow decided to look at wedding dresses or maybe it was destinations. Either way, where is the best place to start anything wedding oriented?

Bingo: The Knot.com

About 5 years ago, Lor and I created my Knot website. In which I completely forgot about and had just assumed I had randomly been on their mailing list until I started receiving random email notifications saying things like, "Have you picked your location yet," "Are you still planning on a 2010 wedding?" "Now that your married, tell us about your venders."

That's right folks, Lor and I actually started putting together my profile 5 years ago. And set my date. I can now vaguely remember saying, "That's in 5 years, I'll for sure be married by then."

As for Ryan, I have no idea who Ryan is but I'm sure that Lor and I chose a generic name because there was always that possibility. Please tell me, who does this"?

We even went as far and chose that I would be married in Orange County, makes sense right? Cliché, that I almost don't date to say the phrase.

Ring before spring...

And according to my wedding date, I should be married for 35 days now.

Five years later, I am 22 years old. I am not married and am perfectly content with who I am and where I am going.

That's not to say that I will never get married but why rush?

As for this, I'm going to continue my lifestyle and peruse some more wedding blogs and photographers.

Here are some of my faves:

1.Gabriel and Carlie.

They are adorable and have taken some of the most breath taking photographs I have ever seen.

2. Tec Petaja

Love Love Love his creative eye. He is such a whimsical photographer with a great eye for detail. He builds the picture beautifully.

He creates. This photographer has talent and a Jack of all trades in the photography scene. When he shoots weddings, his plays around with his surroundings. He does all sorts of film and has a great documentary eye. I love his candid shots.

There are only a few and I highly recommend that you take a gander into these photographers minds (blogs). Cheers.

The Quotable Jessi Duke

And she's leaving on a jet plane

She is a little ridiculous and very strange.  She is probably one of the funniest people I know and here are a couple little gems she shared with me this morning before she left me to visit the lovely Desirae Marks in Portland. I should be there! This vacation is much needed for her.

Here is a paraphrased version of this morning:
Common Sense Clause: Don't ditch the wingman with the Prey. I was trying to come up with a better adjective than that, but Prey was the best I could come up with. It's not even the fine print. The rule is in big bold letters. You just don't do that.

Now, this one is kind of fun because there is a visual with it.
"Our lips are a little too delicious. But its a keeper anyway. hahaha"

Jessi's plane is delayed so she is bored in the airport and officially going insane.

Reasons like this are why I'm a fan of her.

And at breakfast this morning, with the best cup of coffee I ever had, Alta Coffeehouse.  The lovely Sara Saylors and I,  we were talking about since Jessi cut her hair her level of sass has increased tremendously.

I wished upon a shooting star

and asked my maker to give me clarity and to align things into place.

Maybe thirty seconds later my only thought was, " I am so blessed."

I wish I could describe the star. It was directly in front of me and if I would have lifted my hands just a little higher, I'm almost positive I would have been able to feel the fire.

I love the feelings that I get when I see shooting stars, I can't help but think I'm in the right place.

[.and there is no where else I would rather be.]

I am surrounded by people. Not just people, but people I want to continue sharing life with. I take for granted that I have people who care about me. They will fight for me. They want to see me happy. They aren't afraid to tell me when I'm making stupid choices.

In this case, I was with Sebastian and Jessi. Sebby was taking sweet photos around Newport. It was chilly and dark. We had just ordered Laventina's pizza and walked around street 29. In front of me was a couple on the lifeguard tower. We were amazed at how far we have come with our friendship and that we know how to handle each other. We know when to walk away and we know when to give each other space. After the quick escape, we are back to normal and we grow stronger.

Then I saw the shooting star.

Perfection.

We packed up our things, picked up our pizza and walked to the harbor and sat and talked.

Everything about this scene puts so much joy in my heart.
