I don't do this often but I wanted to share a non-profit with you.

Krochet Kids International

I first came across this organization before they were even really an organization. Through some friends of friends in 2006 I ended up at a random beach house with a bunch of surfer boys, sitting in their bathrobes crocheting. True story.

Since then these guys have started something huge in Uganda and now Peru. Creating jobs for women and enabling them to have a trade to make a living. But it goes beyond that... I encourage you all to read up on them.   So many lives have been affected for the better and so much hope has been instilled. It gives me chills just thinking about it.

MISSION

To empower people to rise above poverty.

VISION

To create sustainable economic development programs that support holistic growth of individuals and communities within developing nations.
To inspire the knowledge of a generation about their ability to bring change to a world that is in need.

VALUES

People: We desire holistic freedom for our people to grow and enrich their lives physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Our Product: We believe in quality, handmade products that not only bring comfort and style but serve as a vehicle for social change.
Love: We believe actions rooted in love bring lasting and powerful change. Our model for love is that of the ultimate servant: Jesus.

This season, KKI international is one of twenty-give organizations selected for The American Giving Awards. And they have an opportunity to win a substantial amount of money in grants. This is where we come in. Voting. From now until December 4, the polls will be open. This is where we have the opportunity to make a difference.

Go Vote. Go Share. Be Merry.
