Happy Birthday, my darling

Today is my darling boyfriend's birthday. I'm pretty glad he's alive. I can't wait to spend birthday's together. I feel like this will be a big step in our relationship.

Counting down the days until the boy and I are together again. The countdown begins.

Like how I slipped that in there?

I mentioned some secrets and exciting things.

I'm moving...

I'm moving. to. South Africa!!!

My days are numbered in Southern California.

Then I embark on a crazy road trip in the middle of winter to the midwest.

BAH! So exciting!!!

Hoarding.

Hoarding.

I would call myself a mild hoarder. I try to save everything and attempt to find a use for it. But eventually, I get tired with all the mess and just start throwing stuff away. Often times I regret my decisions. Usually a week or so later, I will decide that I truly needed--------- (insert object here).

But then there are those times that I'm so glad I hoard things. Like last night. I was going through all my old college papers/notes. Yes, I still have most everything. In my defense a lot of it is various writings and things that I would hopefully deem useful if I went to grad school. Sometimes I dwell on the idea that I used to write. Here is one of those findings.

It's that time again. Wednesday. Three O' Clock. Screenwriting 2009. There is a classroom and a handful of students sitting in the second row, closest to the aisle-- Sam sits. Medium height girl with grey eyes and constant out of control wavy hair. She stares into space. Maybe another world, maybe another universe.
          "Sam," said the Professor.
No sound, no response.
          "Sam, are you present?"
Still nothing.
Sam blinks. She is sitting in Zimbabwe. The sky is pitch black and all she can see are the stars above her. Sam is a meidum height girl with grey eyes and her hair is even more out of control because she hasn't showered or touched her hair in five days. She gazes at the stars and ponders.
         "Sam," said Jayde.
Nothing, no response.
        "See any shooting stars yet?"
Sam blinks.
"Ever wish you were somewhere else," she murmurs.

Just to give you a little back story. This was written months after I met this boy. This was written almost 2 years before I started dating him. I think I've been rather smitten for more than a little while.

the list.

Zach Braff. James Mcavoy. Paul Rudd. Andy Samberg. Darn it, I always forget one... to be continued...

As far as I know, the majority of people have their "list." Typically filled with celebrities, musicians, authors-- unattainable people. Maybe the phenomena happened on Friends when a scene like this happened.

Chandler: Well, we have a deal where we each get to pick five different celebrities that we can sleep with, and the other one can't get mad.
Ross: Ah, the heart of every healthy relationship: Honesty, respect, and sex with celebrities.
Monica: So, Chandler... who's on your list?
Chandler: Uh, Kim Basinger, Cindy Crawford, Halle Berry, Yasmine Bleeth, and, ah, Jessica Rabbit.
Rachel: Now, you do realize that she's a cartoon... and way out of your league?
Chandler: I know, I know, I just always wondered if I could get her eyes to pop out of her head.

Rachel: Oh, I don't know. I guess... Chris O'Donnel, John F. Kennedy, Jr., Daniel Day Lewis, Sting, and Parker Stevenson.
Ross: Spiderman?
Rachel: Hardy Boy.
Chandler: Peter Parker.
Ross: Thank you.

Joey: Oh, sorry. Did I get ya?
Chandler: No, you didn't get me! It's an electric drill! You get me, you kill me!

Ross: And... Isabella Rossillini.
Chandler: Oho! Very hot, very sexy. But, uh, ya know, she's too international, ya know. She's never gonna be around.
Rachel: So?
Chandler: So, you gotta play the odds: Pick somebody who's gonna be in the country, like, all the time.
Rachel: Yeah, 'cause that's why you won't get Isabella Rossillini--geography.

You get the gist. Naturally, having a love of the show for many years and more. I have a list. My list changes every so often. I tend to forget who is on it. I once kept a list on my blackberry because I kept forgetting and it kept coming up in conversations with various people and I was tired of never knowing. Whether you agree or not, it is great for conversation. The list says a lot about a personality as well.

I bring up the "list" because of one of the dreams I had last night. I had one awful, creepy sad dream that was a majority of the night. Which is nothing new but after I woke myself up from that dream. I feel back asleep for a couple of hours and none other than Zach Braff was in my dream. Melt my heart. Somehow, I realized that we were dating or on the verge of dating and my response to someone was. "He is on my 'list.' How is this possible. Who ever had the chance to date anyone on their list." And after that. I was on cloud nine. Really though, Id would be more than happy to just have a conversation with him or take a photo of him or see one of his plays. ay ay ay ay.

To make the situation all the better. I woke up and my first thought was I dated Zach Braff and I can't feel bad because he is on my "list" and this is allowed. Maybe my dream subconscious just confused the J.D.'s.

best. night. ever.

one year

happy one year to me! Thanks to all the people who forced this to happen. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE.

Who would have thought I could keep someone around this long. I mean the distance probably helps. "Just a little bit' said in a Bethany Lomas British accent. We celebrated with Skype. Me about to pass out from exhaustion and him euphoric from pulling an all-nighter working through the night. Oh the joys.

I should have updated you all ages ago. Sorry for the silence been on vacation and am having a blast wandering the streets of chicago, curling up on the couch in indianapolis and watching the priceless faces of Jayde while we fly. Onward to Oklahoma in the morning.
